Ninfa Asby: Let me tell you what I know about him...-he created hip hop-he was born in jamaican and moved to the bronx-he used to remix james brown songs etc and make his own rhythms which he called "hip hop"-his original home might be knocked down along with the rest of his old housing projects due to renovation (they're trying to get it stopped last time i checked)-he recently tried to sue jay-z over something to do with slavery...thats all......Show more

Donny Bankson: yea he is from jamaica, thought to have first started hip hop music in the BX, he started off mixing funk beats with hard bass, latin music, and rock, which formed Hiphop. Along with a million other things such as b-boys or girls and graffitti that formed the basis of hip hop. then came afrika bambaataa and gradnmaster flash.
