Ninfa Asby: first question, the Tivo Series 2 or Series 2 DT (Dual Tuner) were made ONLY for Standard Definition Signals (Digital or Analog) but NOT for HD programming. The Tivo Series 3 is made for HD signals as well as Standard definition signals. The Dual Tuners on Tivo are mainly made to be able to record from TWO channels at the same time, allowing you to switch between the tuners on the same TV. It is NOT like the Dish Network DVRs that use Dual Tuners to connect to two different TV. The ONLY reason Dish Networks DVR's have to work this way is because they were using Tivo's technology of DVRs and lost in court due to the patent infringement. Now since the Dual Tuner Tivo's have TWO output you should be able to connect one coaxial cable from your Series 2 DT to Input #1 on you TV and use another method like RCA Audio and RCA Video cables to connect to the TV's Line #2 Input. This way you could use you TV's nremote to switch between its inputs. So since you want to con! nect two TVs you should be able to work it out the same, the ONLY issue is that you will need to change channels on the Tivo unit and I am guessing that both TVs are going to be in seperate rooms which will make the changing channels difficult.....Show more
Romana Stiman: you can watch HD but you can't record in HD...You need Tivo Series 3HD to be able to record in HD. Also you can only connect TIVO to one T.V
Ayesha Genova: You can view your shows in HD but can only record in HD with the Series 3. It can only be hooked to one television set (but I keep bugging my husband about that problem).
