Tivo Series 2 And Dish Network Can it record 2 shows?

Elinore Schlinker: send the tv 2 output to the second tivo input. you wont be able to use the guide for scheduled recordings but you can set up manual recordings from channel 73. you ll have to make sure the show you want is on the second tuner all the time so i wouldn't rely on it to record while your away. Im not 100% sure this will work but that wouldn't stop me from tiring it anyways. Its going to be problematic at best. You should consider upgrading your dual tuner to a dvr dual tuner from dish. there is a one time fee of $100/ $150 but well worth it in the long run just for simplicities sake...Show more

Ignacio Imbier: There is no TiVo model that will do dual tuner with a box/boxes, nor can use the second tuner on your 322 receiver.In your circumstance, you need two separate TiVo DVRs, and two separate satellite receivers, to record two satellite channels at once.To get dual tuners on a Series 2 DT, you need analog cable, and that just doesn't come from sate! llite....Show more

Terrell Voltz: I too would recommend the Dish DVR. It does have dual tuner for satellite, the 2 TV models independently support 2 TVs, and the fee is free to $5. each DVR. For TiVo, you need one for every satellite tuner (the Dual tuner model only gets dual tuner when analog cable is hooked to it), an each TiVo only supports one output, so two or more TVs would have to get the same thing from one DVR, or have their own TiVo, each needing its own service fee ($12.95/month for the first, $9.95 for each one after that....Show more
