Whats the best ethnic cuisine?

Providencia Jalbert: Vanilla extract has alcohol in it so it is haram.Vanillin and vanilla beans are halal as they are not made with alcohol.

Darwin Ecton: It depends on how "silly" you want to be...Alcohol is made by yeasts, nearly ALL yeasts, which are everywhereâ€"in the air you breathe, and all over the skin and hair of your body, and in your kitchen and on all of the produce you eat. (I'm sure you get the idea...)When yeast meets ANY sugar in the presence of water (or other 'aqueous' liquids) the first thing it does is to turn the sugar into alcohol and CO2. That means you can't really drink milk, or eat yogurt, bread, lavash, crackers, pasta, potatoes, granola, or especially, any fresh, juicy or dried fruits, or any other sweet, floury or starchy things, if you become obsessed by the issue of "haram". You'd need to stick to "Halal" meats, well-barbecued, with no sauces and no breads and no vegetables! HUH? It's the truth! Yeast lives absolutely everywhere and! only *wishful thinking* can make the yeast stop producing alcohol in your mouth and in your digestive tract. Nature has made sure that the fruits and grains and beans all have exactly the right enzymes to convert any starches in the food into sugar, as quickly as possible, to make it readily available to the accompanying yeasts, which do only two things wellâ€"reproducing and making alcohol (and CO2!) Sorry for the bad news! The good news is that you can eat any kind of bread or even Christmas cakes that are filled with alcohol, because it disappears very quickly when being cooked, baked or otherwise processed. More good newsâ€"ff Islam has a cardinal "sin" it is *looking for 'haram'* when it's not necessaryâ€"which seems to be a popular Muslim 'pastime' these days...it's better to just relax and enjoy life, without imbibing alcohol and getting drunk on purpose, or eating pork chops 'knowingly'. Otherwise, you're totally 'screwed'!أطيب التمنيات...Show more

Collin Barter: Korean cuisine is probably best known for kimchi, a side dish which uses a distinctive fermentation process of preserving vegetables, most commonly cabbage. Kimchi is said to relieve the pores on the skin, thereby reducin! g wrinkles and providing nutrients to the skin naturally.[citation needed] It is also healthy, as it provides necessary vitamins and nutrients. Gochujang (Korean traditional sauce made of red pepper) is also commonly used, often as pepper (chilli) paste, earning the cuisine a reputation for being spicy.Bulgogi (roasted marinated meat, usually beef), galbi (marinated grilled short ribs), and samgyeopsal (pork belly) are popular meat entrees. Fish is also a popular commodity, as it is the traditional meat that Koreans eat. Meals are usually accompanied by a soup or stew, such as galbitang (stewed ribs) and doenjang jjigae (fermented bean paste soup). The center of the table is filled with a shared collection of sidedishes called banchan. It is also usually accompanied by soju, a popular Korean alcoholic drink. Another Korean traditional alcohol is makgeolli which is made from rice.Other popular dishes include bibimbap which literally means "mixed rice" (rice mixed with meat, ! vegetables, and red pepper paste) and naengmyeon (cold noodles). A comm! on snack in Korea is kimbab, which is rice mixed with vegetables and meat wrapped with seaweed. While an increasingly wide variety of ingredients are used in kimbap, fish in either raw or cooked form is rarely used, perhaps due to kimbap's origin as a portable, packable snack and fish could quickly spoil if unrefrigerated.Instant noodles are also a very popular snack food. Koreans also enjoy food from pojangmachas (street vendors), where one can buy tteokbokki (rice cake and fish cake with a spicy gochujang sauce), fried squid and glazed sweet potato. Soondae, a sausage made of cellophane noodles and pork blood, is widely eaten.Additionally, some of other common snacks includes "chocopie", shrimp cracker, "bbungtigi" (fried rice cracker), and "nu lung ji" (slightly burnt rice). Nu lung ji can be eaten as it is or boiled with water to make a soup. Nu lung ji can be eaten as a snack or a dessert....Show more

Eliseo Luma: I can't take Asian food, specailly Japanese or Ch! inese/vitnames/ thai etc.I like Italian (pizza, pasta) and Mexican (taco, burrito)Indian food is too spicey for me, I hate it.I like some middle eastern and American....Show more

Esteban Lyson: Vanilla extract is halal, because its made from vanilla beans. If you are still skeptical (no control what the makers put into those store bought granola bars) try to make granola bars at home. You can use other essence to make your special granola bars. I am not to offend or disrespect you but being a Chinese, I actually add chopped cured ham (foh tui) and improvised my own granola bars taste with a Chinese flair *

Luke Creitz: My mom bought these two types of granola bar, and she asked me to check if there are any haram ingredients. In it, I saw it had vanilla extract. Some people say that vanilla extract is haram, others say it's not.So...haram or halal?

Shaun Rapkowicz: chinese hot&spicy chicken noodles

Raymundo Kyser: You should really try Bombay Gardens or Udipi Palace or any Indian restaurant should work. The service is usually really good, but the food does take quite a while. Indian foods bring out the spices and flavor, since there is a variety to eat from.If that not you, definitely try Chipotle Mexican Grill. Even though Chipotle ! is not completely authentic Mexican, it is really an amazing place to feast at especially if you're in a ravenous mode. They serve a lot of food, and are quick service, but sadly, they are quite high in calories, depending on what ingredients you choose. It is definitely good service and fresh food. (:...Show more
