Would raising taxes on small businesses be worst than giveaways to large corporations?

Adan Alipio: I am a small business owner. The tax cuts I received because of George Bush helped us so much. I was able to expand, hire more people, give people better wages and more hours. But I am voting for Obama. I believe Obama can make many improvements across the board. I mean with the economy like this those tax cuts cannot make up for the loss of business. I am in the restaurant business and when the economy is bad the first thing people cut back on is going out to eat. Obama understands economics better than McCain. No matter what I wouldn't want to sacrifice national security to save money. I believe Obama will make us a more stable, secure, safe and profitable country. ...Show more

Barton Morfee: The tax increases Obama is considering on corporations would not involve any 'small businesses' How many small businesses do you know of making $2 million a year in profits? True small businesses would do well to be making $100,000 a year in net profit! s and many much less than that. Obama's tax plan would not raise taxes on such businesses.

Ramon Dahlheimer: It's absolutely untrue...So is McCain's whole "I'm against lobbyists and earmarks" platform... that's a bunch of hooey too!He is against any kind of spending that is good for real people in America... but that doesn't make you "fiscally responsible" now does it?Does it matter if we spend a couple million on finding a cure for AIDS or giving healthcare to veterans when we are spending TRILLIONS on the war in Iraq?McCain thinks the latter is a good idea......Show more

Nestor Klan: Yes.

Lewis Ranft: Since Obama's positions are good, the only chance Republicans have of beating him are outright lying about them. They need to be put out to pasture.

Corey Rohleder: ummm Where else would you get the corporate handouts that Republicans like so much?Democrats are more known for being pro-small business than Republicans.Personally I think small business! es should be taxed less, and apparently so does Obama consider! ing is tax credits he mentioned giving to them. But this is typical of right-wingers, to lie and slander and make false claims hoping to make people live in fear so they will support the people who supports the agenda of making those small businesses less competitive.obama has promised to close tax loopholes and incentives for companies doing most of their production overseas.to right-wingers that automatically translates as ..."tell the masses he wants to tax businesses more!"See right-wingers like the fools below, think that the economy is magically made better by not taxing people who produce things ignoring the fact that without the people buy the stuff they produce, the business doesn't sell anythingSo what does an economy more harm? taxing the big business, or lowering the workers wages??!the McCain crowd would have you believe taxing the corporations will, so they can keep supporting an agenda that is ulitmately costing Americans their income, their jobs, and their st! andard of living....Show more

Fritz Hawkey: Obama has PROMISED to raise taxes on corporations.Any Economist on the planet will tell you that is a horrible idea. But to the average American, it sounds real good doesnt it. We have a 35% corporate tax rate (one of the highest on the planet)The don't pay it any way, we do! When we buy their products and services. Why do you think jobs are going overseas? Because of the existing tax rates.Lower it and this economy will explode! Prices come down, more jobs created. That's a good thing....Show more

Branden Round: It is true. Raising taxes on "The Rich", (who already pay most of the federal income tax in the US), will raise taxes on small businesses that operate as a Sole Proprietorship. Also, McCain wants to reduce the Corporate income tax rate, (which is among the highest in the world). When you reduce taxes in general, business and economy tend to thrive. As far as the government giving stuff away to corporations, if! you are referring to tax breaks, I would't say that's "giving" anythin! g, it's is just "taking" less.Big government sucks and is not the answer to most of our problems. ...Show more

Kassie Kay: Both moves screw the little guy. Mark my words, if McCain is elected that is what will; happen.

Doreatha Kjellsen: Small businesses are actually the largest employment base. If you tax them heavily they cannot afford to invest into their business and hire new employees.
